Which greenhouse is better to buy reviews. How do I choose a greenhouse?

Greenhouses are turning to more and more fans to grow crops cultivated plants with your own hands. The greenhouse allows you to get the long-awaited product in a shorter time interval.

However, when choosing a material for a polycarbonate greenhouse, a number of questions and problems arise, which take a lot of time.

The components that you should pay attention to when choosing a greenhouse are the base, and the material used for the greenhouse itself directly depends on the durability and convenience of the installed structure.

Video how to choose a polycarbonate greenhouse:

New time technologies allow you to install greenhouses without a base - a foundation. The stakes of the frame are installed directly into the ground, then, with the help of self-tapping screws, the arcs are fixed in the necessary places.

During the installation and manufacture of greenhouses, various materials are used, however, greenhouses made of cellular polycarbonate came out on top thanks to the best performance. But they have their drawbacks, ignoring which can cause additional costs.

Which polycarbonate to choose for the greenhouse

Polycarbonate is a type of plastic that has two layers, inside of which there are cavities in the form of honeycombs. The longitudinal arrangement allows for air circulation.

Polycarbonate panels are lightweight and have an aesthetic appearance. They have high strength, provide maximum light transmission.

Despite the high strength at an inconvenient location land plot(open draft, snowdrifts) the greenhouse should be installed on the base of the foundation and reinforced with supports.

Conventionally, the material for the frame is divided into two categories:

  1. galvanized profile,
  2. profiled pipe.

Galvanized frame construction, resistant to corrosion. Includes a variety of parts that require mandatory docking during the assembly process.

If the galvanized profile is of poor quality, then the structure will not last long, and its owner will spend a lot of time collecting it.

The frame with the use of a profiled pipe is subject to corrosion. However, the structure includes a couple of elements that have maximum strength and require several hours to assemble.

Polycarbonate greenhouse structures

The greenhouse itself can have two types:

  • arched,
  • gable.

The classic rectangular gable version provides efficient light access in all weather conditions.

The greenhouse version in the form of an arch provides structural strength, maximum thermal conductivity and precipitation does not linger on the roof. However, when collecting, each connection node should be fixed as much as possible, then the greenhouse will last for many years.

What to look for when installing polycarbonate

Installing a polycarbonate greenhouse requires taking into account the basic rules that allow you to get the most effective result.

  1. When choosing a design, preference should be given to arch details with a small step and from one-piece casting. The presence of a large number of elements will withstand the maximum load.
  2. When choosing metal for the frame, you need to focus on the thickness of the material. A high-quality frame provides for maximum thickness, which will ensure the stability and strength of the greenhouse.
  3. The quality of protection can be guaranteed by polycarbonate material with a thickness of at least 4 mm with a density of 0.7 and higher. The maximum protection of vegetation will be provided by a coating of more than 6 mm, two-layer type.
  4. Vegetable crops and flowers provide for the presence of a transparent material. Darker shades are suitable for growing crops that require gentle sunlight.
  5. seal one of important details design provides complete sealing of the joint area. Its presence is mandatory.

To purchase a high-quality greenhouse, you should pay attention to the composition of the elements included in the assembly of the structure. The absence of any details serves as a signal that you are acquiring a fake.

Vegetables from your own garden - what could be tastier and more natural? That's why the hit recent years among summer residents - polycarbonate greenhouses. As practice shows, the quality of the components of greenhouses can be completely different, and the money invested in the purchase may not meet expectations.

How to choose the right greenhouse for polycarbonate from a huge number of options on the market?

We decided to ask one of the largest suppliers of greenhouses and cellular polycarbonate in our country, the M8 Pravilny Dom company, about the secrets developed over the years of working with these products. Who, if not a company with 25 years of experience in the Belarusian market, knows more about them. Our expert was the deputy. Artem Selikhanov, director of the M8 Correct House company. So let's get an expert's opinion.

- Are greenhouses made of cellular polycarbonate as reliable as their sellers say?

Having been selling greenhouses since 2010, we have heard from customers about their bad experiences more than once: about greenhouses that sagged after a snowy winter, and about frames that rusted and broke in one season. Basically, these were greenhouses of little-known manufacturers, bought on the market. Therefore, not all greenhouses are so reliable.

By 2016, we have developed a formula for an ideal greenhouse that will last not one or two seasons, but decades. These are greenhouses under our own brand"M-Agro". But the choice, of course, is yours.

- What points should be paid attention to when choosing a greenhouse frame for polycarbonate?

1. Frame strength

If you decide, give preference to a square pipe with a cross section of at least 20 x 20 mm, and preferably 20 x 40 mm. The metal must be galvanized on both sides. Do not believe unscrupulous sellers who claim that this is not important. Polymer-powder and primed coatings have nothing to do with galvanizing - rust will not take long and will eat through the metal in a season or two. Such coatings play an aesthetic role rather than a practical one, and are not able to withstand the greenhouse climate that is aggressive for metal.

2. The number of transverse frame fasteners

We figured out the pipe section and metal protection, but do not forget the laws of physics. The stability of the polycarbonate greenhouse frame is affected by the number of transverse fasteners that add rigidity to the structure. Accordingly, the more often the step of the transverse fastening, the stronger the frame. Most often on the market there are greenhouses for polycarbonate with a step of 1 and 0.67 meters, which is the best option for our climate.

3. The length of the greenhouse - how not to miscalculate Of course, it is beneficial for the seller to sell you a longer greenhouse, but there is no need for this. If you plan to grow vegetables for yourself and your family, we recommend considering a 4 or 6 meter long greenhouse. As practice has shown, this size of the greenhouse is sufficient to harvest and make seams for the winter.

But if you are an avid agronomist and spend all your free time in the garden, you can increase the length of the M-Agro greenhouse to any size that is a multiple of two meters. Add an additional 2-meter extension to the standard M-Agro greenhouse set of 4 meters and increase the greenhouse to the length you deem sufficient.

4. Easy assembly

The less details the better. Of course, if you're into modeling and building, you can try building a greenhouse to scale as well. But if you don't have large quantity time and plan to install a greenhouse in 1.5 - 2 hours, choose a welded greenhouse frame made of M-Agro polycarbonate. You just have to fix the arcs and cover them with cellular polycarbonate. Due to the streamlined arched shape, the frame easily resists the wind, and in winter the snow rolls like clockwork from a rounded surface.

Cellular polycarbonate - why it replaced the popular glass and cheap film. Now all the greenhouses are covered only by them. Tell us, what is the secret of such popularity?

At the dawn of the appearance of polycarbonate in 1992, our company was the first to bring it to Belarus. And we can say with certainty that this is indeed an ideal material for greenhouses. It is stronger than glass, but not inferior to it in terms of light transmission, withstands snow loads and wind attacks, does not support combustion, is resistant to UV radiation and lasts more than 10 years. But the most important quality of cellular polycarbonate is the ability to retain heat due to air voids. It is thanks to the combination of all these qualities that cellular polycarbonate has replaced glass and films in greenhouses.

What advice can you give gardeners on choosing cellular polycarbonate for a greenhouse? What can extend its service life?

1. Choose the right thickness, density and UV layer of polycarbonate

Most important points that you should pay attention to are the thickness, density and UV protection of polycarbonate. See more about what affects the quality of polycarbonate in the video on our YouTube channel.

How to choose polycarbonate for a greenhouse.

By the way, for the last three years we have been selling Belarusian cellular polycarbonate SOTEK and M-Multi, which has already become a household name among agronomists and gardeners of our country. This polycarbonate is produced on modern Italian OMIPA equipment from the raw materials of the world leader Sabic. It is no worse than foreign analogues - it creates a good climate for planting and tolerates our winters perfectly.

2. Tapes, seals and profiles significantly increase the life of polycarbonate

In order for the greenhouse to serve for more than 10 years, we recommend buying a complete greenhouse. Sealing tape, seals and profiles are mandatory elements of a greenhouse for long-term use.

Often, sellers do not talk about the need for these elements in order to reduce the cost of the greenhouse, but when a polycarbonate sheet is mounted on a greenhouse, its lower part, with open cells, is near the ground. And if you do not close the ends, the earth and insects will quickly penetrate the material and irrevocably spoil it. If you have seen cellular transparent polycarbonate that looked like a dirty gray spot, then this is just due to improper installation. Buy a greenhouse in a complete set, and it will serve you faithfully for many years.

And, of course, if you want the greenhouse to become a source of pride, contact a reliable company that has been operating on the market for more than one year, has all the documents from the manufacturer, and in the event of a warranty case, you can easily resolve all issues.

M8 Pravniy Dom has a large selection of greenhouses - from cheap to professional ones, with increased requirements for quality and durability. We have been working on the Belarusian market for more than 25 years and, being the exclusive representative of factories, we offer greenhouses and polycarbonate at manufacturer's prices. In all our sales offices in Minsk, Brest, Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno or Mogilev, you can always buy a greenhouse at favorable price, with or without delivery, in or full, with any thickness and density of polycarbonate.

Russia began to actively develop Agriculture. Recently, vegetables in Russia are very expensive, so we ourselves have to grow crops in a greenhouse on our site. According to Rosstat by 2020, we will practically not need imports.

VERY IMPORTANT ADVICE!!! HOW TO CHOOSE A GREENHOUSE FOR A LONG TERM.

The price of a greenhouse consists of two components: a greenhouse frame and cellular polycarbonate.

Which greenhouse frame is not worth buying

Collapsible arcs of the greenhouse into several parts (will not withstand snowfall and hurricane)

Metal thickness less than 1.2 mm (will break from snow)

In order to twist the frame, you need to use more than 50 bolts (you need to twist it annually)

The metal of the frame is covered with ordinary paint, enamel primer, or cold galvanized. (It will quickly rust and fail)

Greenhouse weight less than 60 kg assembled without polycarbonate (will fly away through the garden)

Which greenhouse frame will last more than 10 years

Metal thickness not less than 1.2 mm (decomposition period of metal is up to 25 years)

Metal coating thermoplastic or hot-dip galvanized with a thickness of more than 200 microns (service life up to 50 years)

Frame made of double arches without crabs (high strength if the parts are one-piece)

Which polycarbonate is not worth buying

Polycarbonate with a density of less than 0.65 kg / m2 (it will quickly crack and turn yellow)

Polycarbonate with the addition of recycled materials (will last one season)

Polycarbonate with a guarantee of less than 10 years (in fact 6 months)

Which polycarbonate is better for a greenhouse will last more than 10 years

High density polycarbonate over 650 grams per square meter the weight of one sheet should be from 7 to 10 kg

- Polycarbonate from virgin raw materials

- Polycarbonate with UV protection inside and outside method - Co-extrusion!

If you follow this recommendation, you will not become one of those who buy a new greenhouse every year.

Let's try to answer the questions:

  • What should be the greenhouse?
  • What greenhouse to choose?
  • How to choose a durable greenhouse?
  • Which greenhouses are better and which are worse?
  • Which polycarbonate to choose? Etc.

Frame. Greenhouses can be divided into 2 large groups:

  • Greenhouses from a steel profile - painted prof. pipes

Let's compare them:

Greenhouses from a galvanized profile- consist of many elements that need to be joined to each other during assembly, and the profile is not closed. In these designs, the cost of zinc can be offset by the thickness of the metal. If galvanizing is done with high quality, then the metal is very little susceptible to corrosion, it will not rust. But at the same time, such structures have very low strength. This is especially true for inexpensive greenhouses. The arcs consist of many parts, the thickness of the metal is often 0.5-0.8 mm, which does not withstand any criticism and snow loads. Such greenhouses become loose even from the influence of the wind. And the assembly of such a greenhouse is a rather long and laborious process, sometimes stretching for weeks.

Greenhouses from a steel profile (pipes), generally stronger, but more prone to corrosion. Assembly takes much less time (2 people with no experience assemble in 3-6 hours). The profile must be painted, preferably with special paint and in the factory.

What you need to pay attention to when choosing a greenhouse so that it does not collapse in winter:

arcs should be solid-bent, welded gables (that is, all elements of the gable - doors and vents - should already be welded at the factory). This design will provide maximum strength.

Profile section- the best is 25x25mm (this is the optimal combination of price and quality), the wider the profile, the stronger, 60 x 60 is possible, but why?

metal thickness- from 1.2 mm (more is possible, less is impossible)

Distance between arcs- optimally 1 m, in the case of an economy class, it can even be used under a film

Base section- at least 25x25 - only in this case can we say that the greenhouse has a basis. From the base of 20x20 there will be little sense.

Cellular polycarbonate.

What you need to pay attention to when choosing cellular polycarbonate?

  • Thickness from 4 mm.Directly ask sellers about the thickness of polycarbonate! No 3.5 mm and 3.8 mm. This is a low quality polycarbonate that will last you a very short time!
  • The presence of a protective layer against ultraviolet radiation. The layer must be applied. Some sellers say that there are UV additives "in bulk" - that is, in the raw materials from which polycarbonate is made. Such polycarbonate is guaranteed to collapse in 2-3 years.

Greenhouse type.

Arched- the most common and most convenient
in the form of a house, double-slope or single-slope, or polygonal shape
rectangular with a gable and single-pitched roof
polygonal
wall-mounted
square
greenhouses - pyramids

Criterias of choice: the main thing is the base and the material.

The frame is the strongest
The coating is reliable (glass - it breaks and retains ultraviolet radiation, polyethylene is needed every season a new one, polycarbonate is light and durable, the best way)
Foundation - at your discretion (made of foam blocks, wooden frame, metal supports into the ground)

The disadvantage of greenhouses from stores:

  • usually a thin coating (plain or reinforced polyethylene film, thin polycarbonate with a declared thickness of 4 mm ECONOMY class).
  • the thickness of the frame material, a bent frame with steel less than 1 mm thick is completely unsuitable for use in our area.
  • width 2.3 m: allows you to provide transport delivery welded structure, but you lose 70 cm of the width of the greenhouse, with a 6 m length of the greenhouse - 4.2 m of usable working area, and this is a whole bed!

Snow loads in winter

In the northern regions of Russia, the estimated weight of snow cover for buildings and structures according to building codes (this includes greenhouses that do not need maintenance in winter) is 240 kg / m2 and only 20 kg / m2 for serviced structures (SNiP 2.01.07-85 and SNiP 2.10 .04-85). AT this case the buyer decides for himself which greenhouse to choose. If the buyer can take care of the greenhouse in winter, constantly monitor and, if necessary, remove snow from it, then you can save money and buy a model with a small snow load, from a galvanized profile or a 20x20 pipe.

Greenhouse plan. It is very important to think over the greenhouse plan in advance:

number of beds width of beds
their location
be aware of crop heights, etc.

Do you know that...
The snow load in our area can exceed 180 kg/m2.
Freshly fallen snow with a thickness of 27 cm gives approximately 80 kg/m2 of vertical load.
In January, there is a positive temperature, the snow soaked with water will turn into ice with a density reaching up to 900 kg / m3.
A strong wind exerts pressure on the frame up to 17 kg/m2.

Another application of greenhouse construction:

as awnings,
warehouses,
storage place for lawn mowers and other garden equipment,
alcove
garage, etc.

Tips for summer residents and gardeners:

Decide what exactly you will grow in the greenhouse:

In a greenhouse, you can grow tomatoes, herbs, cucumbers, various seedlings and even berries - it's up to you, but remember: different greenhouse crops differ in both growing modes and requirements for light and humidity. You can grow some plants together, while others will not tolerate any neighborhood and, moreover, will only harm each other.

Having decided on the height of the plants to be pulled out, you can choose a greenhouse of a suitable height. But it is better to take a universal one, since experience shows that they acquire both a second greenhouse and a third one, and then they alternate growing plants (tomatoes a year, cucumbers a year).

Decide on watering:

  • a simple watering can - provide a place and let it always be full of warm water heated in a greenhouse
  • drip irrigation - put the barrel in the corner of the greenhouse and spread the hoses under the roots of the plants
  • using a semi-automatic or automated system.

Where to install a greenhouse?

The greenhouse must use the energy of the sun with maximum productivity! It is better to install in a place protected from wind and drafts. It is necessary to position the greenhouse in such a way that it is maximally illuminated by the sun throughout the day: it is desirable to install it in length from north to south.

Ideally, a greenhouse for a summer residence should be:

reliable,

quality,
most durable,
adapted to the weather conditions of your region,
practical,
convenient to use
and, of course, inexpensive.

Coating. Material types:

Cellular polycarbonate -a material that is known for its strength, 200 times that of glass. Thanks to this property, a greenhouse made ofpolycarbonate is not afraid of heavy rain, gusty wind and even hail. Over timeenem it will not lose its transparency.
Polyethylene film- one of the cheapest and widely used covering materials. She is enoughIt can be easily attached to a greenhouse of any design, perfectly transmits ultraviolet rays, protection against small frosts (up to - 3 ° C). It has a density of 100 to 150 microns and a width of 1 to 3 meters.
Reinforced polyethylene film- has the same advantages as the ordinary one, but, thanks to a special reinforced mesh, it is distinguished by increased strength - it can withstand not only strong winds, but also hail. It is produced in rolls with a density of 200 microns, and it can be used for several seasons in a row.
Covering material spunbond- a durable non-woven fabric of white color, which can easily withstand not only wind, hail, heavy rain, but also the onslaught of birds. It is able to protect plants from frost down to minus 7 ° C, and it can be used for about 5 seasons in a row.

Pros and cons of different types of greenhouses
You can cover an arched greenhouse in just an hour, but it will be more difficult to care for the plants growing in it: of course, access to plants that grow near the aisle will be excellent, which cannot be said about plants planted in the outer row - to get to them you have to get on your knees. But there is also a way out of this: make one bed in the middle (for 2 rows of plants), the second on one side (1 row), the third on the other side of the greenhouse (1 more row of plants).
In the case of a shed roof, you can work in a greenhouse quite comfortably, but to cover such a roof you will have to make a lot of effort - you need to do this only in dry and always calm weather, otherwise the film will flutter in the wind, and a little later it will simply sag. Of course, if you use glass or plastic instead of film, this problem will not arise.

A polygonal greenhouse also has its drawbacks: in addition to being one of the most expensive, it is quite difficult to maintain a stable temperature in it. But, thanks to their original form, it will become a worthy decoration of any garden plot.

Which greenhouse to choose, assemble it yourself, build it yourself, purchase a ready-made one or order an assembly - of course, you decide. Consider just a few recommendations that are the same for all types of greenhouses.

Optimum height, width and length of the greenhouse

The optimal dimensions of any dacha greenhouse are: height from 2 meters, 1.5 meters - the height of the low wall and 3 meters - width. It is in a greenhouse with such dimensions that it is easiest to care for plants. Naturally, these parameters are optional, you can change them at your discretion. The only thing is that the greenhouse should not be more than six meters in length, otherwise it will be quite difficult to care for the plants in it. If a long greenhouse is simply necessary, divide it into several sections (some plants do not get along with each other).

Optimal dimensions greenhouse doorway (door) Ideally, the doors to the greenhouse should be wide enough to be easily driven through with a garden cart.

We wish you a pleasant time in your garden! Most importantly, the greenhouse must be strong, reliable and produce a good harvest!Good luck!
