"Lavka Joy" is the first Russian charitable store, which was opened in 2012 thanks to Katya Bermant, director of the organizations "All Together" and "Children's Hearts". Project volunteers affectionately call the store a shop and accept absolutely any thing - from vintage items and souvenirs to ordinary new and not so clothes (but the ones that are sold will definitely be in good condition, as they are selected before entering the store). According to the volunteers, it is still not worth bringing books (there is nowhere to put them) and large interior items. Project staff pick up any items, except for those that are already considered garbage. They accept gifts of clothes, books, toys, old and broken household appliances, crockery and furniture.

Then things are taken apart in a warehouse, dishes are washed, clothes are sorted and disinfected with quartz, shoes are cleaned, appliances (if possible) are repaired, and books are sorted into categories. At the same time, what is not suitable for sale for recycling is separated and handed over, or disposed of with the help of the “Defigurement” project.
